Maurice Nicoleau

I graduated from New York University earning a Master of Social Work. I am currently in post-graduate psychodynamic and psychoanalytic training at the Derner Institute of Adelphi University.

I have a background working in the in-patient psychiatric unit of Queens Hospital Center where I collaborated with a team of specialists, to treat people suffering from schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and severe character and personality disorders. In addition, I was a part of Queens Hospital Center’s Mobile Crisis Unit, where I responded to NYC Well Calls.

In private practice, I have worked with people experiencing a variety of conditions including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, substance use disorder, complex trauma, and PTSD.

It is important to work with a therapist who is comfortable with the parts of yourself that seem most frightening to you. My experience helps me facilitate a therapeutic environment that is safe and free of judgment, which can allow you to explore yourself authentically.
